Week 01 – Introduction to Social Media (Web 2.0)
After completing this lab, you will be able to:
* Become more familiar with what Web 2.0 is
* Become more familiar with how some of the social media platforms.
Task 1 :-

1. List at least four different Web sites mentioned in the video and describe their Web 2.0 features.
a) Blogger – create blogs for others to view
b) Youtube – watch videos online
c) Flickr – photo uploads and tagging to share online
d) CNN – RSS Feeds
2. The video makes the case for separating form (how information is displayed) from content (the information itself.) Why is this important?
Users do not need to know complicated code to upload content to the web.
3. The video identifies a shift in the usage of World Wide Web from "the Web is linking documents" to "the Web is linking people." How did that shift take place?
People are now using the Web 2.0 to share, trade and collaborate information. In addition now more and more people are using machines to do their tasks.
4. The video ends by listing a number of qualities we need to rethink as a result of the way people are now using the World Wide Web. Given the way you use the World Wide Web, which of these are of concern to you? Why?
a) Privacy – privacy is an area of concern to me as information about us, pictures of us are easily available online. It is much more easier to stalk people now compared to in the past. For example one area of concern is the location tagging of photos you upload, people can easily stalk areas which you frequently visit if your photos are tagged to locations.
