Introduction:

My Internet business idea is to develop an online matatu ticketing system where passengers are able to pay for their tours and travel prior to the actual travel date and there is no need of physical presence to make payments. This system gives details of the proposed venture, along with expected needs and results taking into account the unique nature of electronic commerce.

Plan Purpose:

The business plan is to outline how the online company will take advantage of e-commerce to allow it to gain greater efficiencies of scale in management, marketing in the transport industry.

The system will contain a column where the customer can choose the date of travel, type of vehicle and seat number.

The venture will enable matatu owners rake in more from the efficient bookings and efficient travel arrangements.

The e-matatu venture will be marketed by matatu owners where 5% commission is charged for every transaction of online ticket purchase.

This venture has the potential of making big money since the government of Kenya and citizens have embraced technology and technological tools such as mobile phones.

Experts commonly agree that the Internet will create a frictionless global marketplace the scope of which has never been seen in the history of commerce. The number of Internet users is doubling every 100 days.

The first changing demographic demonstrates the current and future potential. This feeds into the overall goal of ensuring that more and more travelers pay for their travels online thus increasing profits in commissions to the e-matatu business.
