Company Review of Strategic Alignment

Nestle is widely known for their various products in the global market such as drinks, ice cream and, of course, their chocolates and candies. Nestle is not considered to be just in the food industry but strives on focusing on the health and wellness of its consumers. Being in a competitive, yet popular, industry, Nestle mission statement of “Good Food, Good Life”, focuses on being the best tasting and most nutritious choice in a wide range of foods and beverages, and eating occasions, from morning to night. The HR department aligns its strategies to the mission statement by adopting key attitudes and values to benefit both the employees and their consumers.

Nestle was formed in 1905 by Henri Nestle, who had merged with the Anglo-Swiss Condensed Milk Company. Headquartered in Switzerland, Nestle operates in more than 86 countries around the world. Employing more than 330,000 employees, the company follows key attitudes and values that help accomplish these goals. Key attitudes and values for Nestle is pragmatism, flexibility, willingness to learn, and having an open mind and respect for other people and cultures.

Adopting pragmatism, Nestle focuses on having realistic and practical ideas. This means that Nestle provides their consumers with the products that meet consumers’ expectations and preferences. In return, Nestles consumers trust their brand. This leads into flexibility. If a product was to not be successful in the market, the company is willing to alter their product or try something new until they are able to provide their consumers with what they want. Following into the willingness to learn, the company will do any research necessary in developing a product that fits the consumers needs and want, all while trying to keep their products nutritious.
