1. Explain how you responded to a significant challenge that you have encountered and what you learned in the process. (maximum 200 words)

When I was in high school, I have taken part in a voluntary activity which required us to stay in the metro station to tell passengers to walk along the right side to allow other people who were in a rush to go in the left side. At first I thought this work was really easy and required little effort to do it. However, this turned not to be as estimated for the fact that especially during the peak time, people are always in a rush and have no time to listen to me carefully. This really made me feel uncomfortable because I thought that our work was not respected by others. Although I met some guys who were not so cooperative and nice, I continued promoting this behavior to the other people. Then after a whole day work I felt really tired but when I went back home and shared the experience with my parents, the discussion really taught me a lot. I realized that in your lifetime there are always something and someone that would bring kind of failure to you, what I am supposed to do is to never give up and continue doing the thing which I think is right.

2. Tell us about an experience, in school or out, that caused you to rethink or change your perspective. What impact has this had on you? (maximum 200 words)

I could recall the experience when I went to the UK last winter to watch a football match of my favorite team in their city. Before I went on to the trip, I felt really excited about the match and went to the stadium several hours in advance. When I was in China I regarded the win or lose so much and I was easy to become sad and angry when my team lost the match. However, this experience has changed my perspective towards the results of the matches. When I entered the stadium, I could hear the songs by the supported fans who were always cheering up for their team. During the match, the chants never stopped for a minute...
