The statement that gay men are carriers of "homosexuality gene" in the 1990's bombshell. And new research conducted in support of this finding for 20 years, has borne fruit: opened another gene, presumably responsible for the formation of homosexuality.

For Professionals evolutionary genetics, by the way, the idea that genes determine the sexual preferences of their carriers is not surprising - is constantly happening in the world of animals, so it is safe to assume that there is a set of genes that also influence the sexual orientation of a person.

However, in our case, it is necessary to consider not their genes "homosexuality", but rather, genes that have a love for men. These genes may be quite common among us and is a predisposing factor, such as more intensive and early sexual activity, as well as to a greater number of children in women and homosexual men.

Moreover, it would be strange if there were no similar genes that have to love women, that would be expressed in a non-heterosexual women, and to the earlier onset of sexual activity and a large number of children in men.

Evidence of the existence of "homosexuality gene"

We can observe the genetic variations that create differences between people, studying families in which they are observed. Differences in the heritable traits reflect different variations of genes (alleles) that affect the formation of such external features as hair color or development of diseases (such as sickle cell anemia). Quantitative attributes, such as weight, is affected by several different genes and environmental factors.

But to determine the charge of homosexuality is genetic variation using this method is very difficult, at first, because many men prefer not to express openly their orientation. And doubly difficult because, according to such studies, the genes are only part of the whole process. Hormones, birth order in the family and environmental factors also play a role.
