Project Overview
Hugh McCauley who is the COO of Riordan Manufacturing sent out a memorandum to the HR integration Product Manager. The memorandum was sent to inform the Product Manager that the HR Integration Project had been approved. Riordan Manufacturing wants to incorporate the many of the tools available today to upgrade and support their HR functions. Mr. McCauley has clearly set a proposed timeline for the project to six months, in order to launch the new system in the second quarter next year. Before the project is approved to start, Mr. McCauley is to receive the detailed project plan that includes the list of all the tasks, resources, schedule, and budget. This report will discuss the application architecture and process design. It will detail the systems analysis tool that goes into the architecture in regards to data, processes, interfaces and network.
Background
Riordan Manufacturing is a global plastics manufacturing company that was founded by Dr. Riordan in 1991. Dr. Riordan is a professor of chemistry that founded a process that makes polymers into high tensile strength plastic substrates, to which he has obtained several patents. In the beginning, Dr. Riordan started the company as a research and development company, but later expanded into a manufacturing company when he obtained venture capital that helped him purchase a fan manufacturing plant in Pontiac, MI. Riordan Manufacturing expanded again when it acquired a plant in Albany, GA. Later Riordan Manufacturing opened its operations and moved the fan manufacturing to China. That allowed Riordan Manufacturing to re-engineer its Pontiac, MI facility to custom produce plastic parts.
