In reference to the merger I have prepared a job analysis to assist with the descriptions of the job title. The purpose of the job of the job analysis is to reform a new sales team that can help to achieve new company goals. The method that I thought would be the most useful in this particular scenario is to Interview. βIn many jobs in which it is not possible for the analyst actually to perform the job (e.g., airline pilot) or where observation is impractical (e.g., architect), it is necessary to rely on workers' own descriptions of what they do, why, and how.β (Cascio, 2005)
Job Analysis
A. Summary and Position
Develops and implements a sales process to include initial contact, follow up, presentation and closing procedures. Possess the ability to maintain records of contacts and sales status including contact reports, sales projections and quota ratios. Not only is an important task to maintain customers, having the ability to generate new leads is also essential. A strong sales person is skilled in responding to sales inquiries by phone, electronically or by phone. To ensure quality customer service having good customer relationship is critical, especially when introducing new products and services. Any added contribution that could lead ultimately to the customer being happy and another gain for the company is beneficial but in order to get to that point in the sales industry the basic skills need to be mastered.
B. Job duties
1.) Makes initial contact with customers-It is important to initiate contact with every potential customer first and foremost because not all customers are aware of how a product or service could be of use to them.
