The Walt Disney Company was founded on October 16, 1923 by Walt Elias Disney and his brother Roy Oliver Disney as the Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio. Disney is an American diversified multinational mass media corporation headquartered at the Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, California. The company now also operated under the name Walt Disney Productions, and it become one of the largest and best-known studios in American cinema. 

The growth of Walt Disney

The company was started at a small office occupied by Holly-Vermont Realty in Los Angeles at year 1923. Walt Disney and his brother Roy was produced some short animation film that called Alice Comedies. After that, the company changed the name to Walt Disney Studio, and at year 1927 Disney developed their first original character name Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. The character was distributed by Winkler Pictures through Universal Pictures, the distributor was owned the character and this made Disney only earned few hundred dollars.

In 1928, Mickey Mouse was become a turning point to Disney towards their first step of success. The Mickey Mouse original name is Mortimer Mouse, it starred in several produced films by Disney. Mickey Mouse was become popular and Disney was continued to produce cartoons of Mickey and others character. In 1937, Disney was produced Snow White and Seven Dwarfs which is their feature-length of animated. The animate was first premiered in December 1937 and became highest-grossing film of that time by 1939. The Snow White and Seven Dwarfs was made Disney earned a lot of profit and able to move to the new studio complex in Burbank, California. And at the following year Disney was become the initial public offering company. The company was continued to release some animate like Pinocchio, Fantasia, Dumbo and Bambi.
