Case Study: Coca-Cola Is Everything

Abstract

Coca-Cola is a global leader in the beverage industry; with a catchy sales statement. “Have a Coke and a Smile”. Coca-Cola originated as a soda fountain beverage in 1886 selling for five cents a glass. Early growth was impressive, but it was only when a strong bottling system developed that Coca-Cola became the world-famous brand it is today. They have distribution sales centers located in 7 southeastern states. Coke has hundreds of brands, including soft drinks, fruit juices, sports drinks and other beverages. To be a successful company, Coca-cola has shown its capability in fulfilling the basic economic equation, that is, to meet the supply with the demand. Coca-Cola is proud that they can gain more customers while keeping existing customers.

Coca-Cola is Everything

Coca Cola is a type of company that insists on making changes in its products and business strategies. The company has used techniques of change management in order to survive from the consequences of those events. This concept is very important for Coca-Cola to maintain standardization which helps them with the process of developing and implementing technical standards. The Supply Chain Management is IT systems that they utilize to support activities by ensuring a smooth flow of inventory within business. Standardization is important in supply chain management because everyone involved with the organization would be able to use the same technology to enhance their capabilities. Standardization is a huge game changer that helps to eliminate excess inventory, and cost saving. The process of supply chain management will be more efficiently streamlined and provide services and solutions to address every stage of the supply chain. In my opinion, Coke would not charge for the bottles for these software services since it would be benefitting Coke...
