Introduction

Henry David Thoreau stated “It’s not enough to be busy, so are the ants. The question is, what are we busy about?” Being able to manage time makes daily life events flow easily. Everyone needs to be able to prioritize and make good choices to complete assignments or goals in a timely manner. Life is filled with unexpected events and you need to be able to handle those events if they arise but also be able to stick to things that have to be done that were already set in place. Sometimes, we fill as if there is not enough time in the day to get it all done. However, prioritization of your schedule and managing the time that one has can definitely make things easier.

Time Management

However, many including myself have issues with time management. After taking the "How Good Is Your Time Management" quiz, I learned that I procrastinate on many tasks. Other reasons for poor time management would include not setting goals, not prioritizing, too many interruptions, and not scheduling ones time (Mind Tools, 2012). After it is established that there are issues with time management, there needs to be a process put in place to prioritize. I learned that it is not good to put off what I can do and get finish with. This will help me not only in my professional career but my personal life because it will help me to complete tasks that are not difficult but boring and get them completed.

Unanticipated Events and Interruptions

The world is filled with unanticipated events. Life is an unanticipated event in my opinion. No one can plan everything single second of their day or night. Anything can occur that can play a major impact of your work, family, and even social leisure. No one can plan for the unexpected but you can be as prepared as much as possible.
