Practical Analysis of Translation of Literary

The fundamental reason for choosing Yusef Komunyakaa (April 29, 1947) poems” Facing it” is that it has been written originally in English. Yusef Komunyakaa is an American poet who currently teaches at New York University and is a famous member of the fellowship of southern writers. He is recipient of the 1994 Kinsley Tufts poetry award, for Neon Vernacular and the 1994 Pulitzer Prize for poetry. He also receive the Ruth Lilly poetry prize. Komunyakaa receive the 2007 Louisiana writer award for his enduring contribution to the poetry world. The award was presented to him by Lt. Governor of Louisiana, Mitch Landrieu, on November 3, 2007. At a ceremony held at the fifth annual Louisiana book festival in Baton Rouge LA. His subject matter ranges from the black general experience through rural Southern life before the Civil Rights time period and his experience as a soldier during the Vietnam War.

This study tries to find some method of translation procedures proposed by Newmark that used during translated into Persian and identifying them. First, some example extracted from the poem’s with their translation form the translator, Professor Seyyed Shahabeddin Sadati that presented as follow.

" روبرويي با ان"

چهره ي سياهم محو ميشود،

درون سنگ خاراي سياه پنهان مي شود.

گفتم من اين را نمي خواستم،

لعنتي: هيچ اشكي نبايد ريخت.

من سنگم. من از گوشت و خونم.

انعكاس ابري ام به من خيره شده

مثل پرنده اي شكاري، نيمرخ شب

به روز تكيه كرده.بر مي گردم

از اين سو- سنگ رهايم مي كند بروم.

از ان سو بر ميگردم- درون

يادبود سربازان ويتنامم

دوباره، بسته به نور

تا كه تغيير ايجاد كند.

58022 نام را مي نگرم،

منتظرم تا پيدا كنم

نام خود را در حروفي از دود.
