When I was small, I had lived in a tiny village in mainland China with my grandma. I always lay down on the roof of grandma’s house at night and stared at the sky.

The night sky I saw wasn’t black as ink. It was indigo with lots of little shining dots. The stars glittered like diamonds but not harsh to my eyes and even caught my eye. I gazed at them, stretched out my hand and tried to catch them. When I spread my palm, I found nothing on it. I frowned, and my cheeks were bulged roundly.

I turned my face to look up at the starry sky again. The stars were still sparking over me. They liked the sparks of fireworks but not as noisy as exploding fireworks. They were silent. Were they sleeping? I wanted to wake them up but suddenly, thousands and thousands of stars started running as fast as rockets. Maybe they were joining the Marathon. The contestants ran from the east to the west. They strode across the sky. Because of weariness, some of them sat on the indigo track and rested. Some of them were strong enough and never got exhausted. Some of them abruptly disappeared! What happened to them? Were they disqualified from the competition due to breaking the rules? Did they get injured and are sent to hospitals? I shook my head immediately and kicked the unlucky imagination out of my mind.

The meteor shower continued. While millions of meteors were streaking across the sky, millions of trails were left. The luminous lines linked together, and a huge portrait was presented on the boundless purplish-blue drawing paper. “Wow!” I gaped. The stars were also painters! Although they were not as great as Picasso, at least, they had better drawing skills than me. In their work, there was an attractive lady with charming and dewy eyes, high-tip nose, pouty lips and wavy hair. She was wearing a diamond necklace and a dark blue gown.
