What are the main advantages and disadvantages for Audi associated with
these two forms of international development?
Advantages
* Audi company has succeeded in conquering the European market (not including Germany), where it makes 32.7 per cent of its sales.
* Audi is now also the main market outside Europe & the majority of its shares are in China, where Audi has been present since 1988 (which has given it a leadership position com-pared to its competitors, BMW and Mercedes.
* International development
* Breakdown of Audi vehicle sales by geographic area shows that Audi
* sales are experiencing strong growth in several emerging markets (China: +29.6 per cent, Russia & the USA
Disadvantages
* Audi’s Growth rates are more moderate, and in Italy (−17 per cent) and Spain (−11.7 per cent), one can observe a significant drop in sales.
* Still Way Behind in the American market, Mercedes and BMW two of its direct competition lead the way.
* International Development is limited, New Designs described as lacklustre compared to its direct competitors.
Nevertheless I feel there are more positives, than negatives & if Audi continues to expand its continued international development, they will cease the opportunity to widen the gap against direct competitors.
