According to Cherry, “Maslow’s hierarchy of needs is when our actions are motivated in order to achieve certain basic needs (Cherry, 2014).” Furthermore, human beings are driven to accomplish basic necessities before they move onto other progressive needs and as a humanist, Maslow held a widespread view that people have a natural desire to be self-actualized in order to achieve their ultimate goal but other basic needs must be met first.

According to Kelchner, an organization that put their employee’s needs first for their hard work and dedication to the business will experience high productivity and a positive approach to the business (Kelchner, 2014). Subsequently, Patagonia Company’s culture according to Maslow hierarchy of needs addresses basic physical, bodily, functional and biological functions of every human being which the environment of the workplace is very good to work, all basic amenities in relation to nourishment and amusement is offered to them and for the employees who are women and have small children, the company also offer several services for them.

I would love to work at Patagonia because the company treats you like family, the employees also have the freedom of the outdoors while trying to save the environment, the workplace is safe and secured. Additionally, if you don’t want to be disturbed, you can move to a quiet area to enjoy yourself and you have something that might not be offered to you in other companies that you probably worked at before.

The equity theory of motivation according to Vogt states, “When a person compares himself to his coworkers and finds the results to be fair, he will be more motivated (Vogt, 2014).” Furthermore, if he matches himself to his associates and finds the outcomes to be imbalanced or "one-sided," he will be less encouraged or inspired to participate....
