The Day Where Everything Went Wrong

When I was 12 in 2009, I had the worst day of my life. In my dream I was at the orthodontist going to get my surgery because my canine tooth wouldn’t come down. He was saying how everything was going to go by quickly and safely. No pain was the part in which he did not mention. During the surgery, I was sitting there on the dull gray chair with two, boring, and old arm-rests. Everyone stared me down at the dentist’s place because of the ruckus I was causing. On this account I kept on sobbing while my mom was telling me to be quiet and just wait for the owner of the orthodontist office to come, and so I waited and waited for the orthodontist to come.

Finally after what seemed like hours the dentists finally came and told me everything was going to be fine. They also said a quote by Jack LaLanne “No pain; no gain”. Thus the owner told me to be quiet. Shockingly I became quiet thinking in my head that “everything was going to be fine” because my mom was there. Before we started, my heart was pounding like a bull, and I was pumped full of adrenaline.

Next, after I calmed myself down, we finally began. First the dentists injected me with four 3.5” needles four times to make my mouth numb. Accordingly after that they gave me five minutes to rest for the numbness goo had to sink in. Laser was used on me and then they started the real procedure on getting my canine down because it was stuck in my gum. They used the laser on my gum first to make a hole in it. Blazing hot smoke climbed its way to the ceiling. What was coming down was horrifying. I felt red, hot, and gooey blood dripping down onto the cloth that they attached to my shirt. Also when this was happening in my dream, I felt that everything was going perfectly, until one part they slipped the laser and it left a long red scorching gash down my throat.
