Company Q is located in the major metropolitan area, it's a local-small grocery store chain. The store is being evaluated on its Social Responsibilities, and recommend actions that Company Q may add to improve attitude towards its Social Responsibilities.

Two stores were closed last year in high crime rate areas. The reason for the closures was said to be due to the stores being unprofitable but other circumstances such as a lack of social consciousness appears to have been a problem as well. Feedback shows that customers have been requesting more health-conscience and organic products that took years for the stores to stock claiming that they are high margin items. Lack of customer relationship could of also been a factor in the two stores closing. A small chain needs to participate with the community around it to survive; it should respect customers demands in demonstration of loyalty to better the consumers relations.

Company Qs' social detachment also comes from the lack of charitable relationship it has with the community. Food banks in the area asked Company Q to donate day old products but were turned away by Management and instead the food is thrown away in the garbage. Reasons behind this decision are because Company Q are worried that employee fraud will take place by false claims of taking food to donate and instead performing theft. Employee trust is issues Company Q has with it's Social Responsibilities and Ethics. Company Q has made its stores decisions based upon the idea of its own employees being untrustworthy. Company culture and environment is a large factor in its ethics and the image it puts off to the community around it.

The failure of social responsibility lies from Company Qs' lack of service to the community and employee. A small local chain depends on the community to stay in business and in return the community depends on the store to supply them what they need. If those bonds do not exist it is very likely that...
