Nike, Inc. is a leader in the Footwear, Apparel, and Equipment industry. They are currently earning revenues in the billions. They earned $27.8 billion in revenues in 2014, which was a 10% increase from the previous year. Nike, Inc. employed 32,800 people in fiscal year 2009 in the following regions:

Nike, Inc. began on January 25, 1964 as Blue Ribbon Sports with $500 invested by each of its cofounders Phil Knight and Bill Bowerman. Nike, Inc. began with the dreams of Knight and Bowerman. Knight was a former runner for the University of Oregon who wanted to earn an income without giving up his love of athletics. Bowerman coached Knight in 1959 and was in pursuit of lighter, more durable running shoes for his runners.
