Amazon was founded in 1994 and was originally based in the founder’s garage in Washington (Fair, 2002). By 1995 Amazon was selling books and was becoming an online community, where the buyers and sellers can leave comments regarding his or her purchase. As the company grew, they increased the items that they sold as well as contracts with larger retail stores to use the site to sell products. As an online site where one can buy or sell products Amazons main competitor is EBay, where people have the option to bid on the price they want to pay. Amazon decided to broaden its reach by moving into the technical stage of the business. Amazon now competes with Microsoft and Google with the new services Amazon offers.
