Dynamic Map display in Web OPAC: An Experiment at Wichita State University Libraries

Giving more attribute to the web OPAC or making Integrated Library Management Systems (ILMS) acceptable for web services has been prone year lately. By showing of dynamic map(s) for each one file in the web OPAC, bibliographic information are enhanced. Providing dynamic locations in their OPAC. The attribute shows specific locations and shelf maps of the library stacks for each books. In the main library, different classification schemes are in use, some are LC, SUDOC, and accession numbering. Moving ISBN, bibliographic ID field were moved to a processing routine having connection on ILMS tables. The routine will query the ILMS tables, and export the call number, title, and author displaying dynamic map in the webpage (Li, Deng, & Deyoe, 2007).

A STUDY OF WEB-BASED OPACs SERVICES IN INDIA

Web OPAC are library catalog on the Web or Internet. It is a Web OPAC that is connected by the use of Uniform Resource Locator (URL) the user can search required information anytime, and everywhere. It is a programmed that is designed only for the library program, it ease the borrowing process instead of finding the information of the book on the card catalog.
