UMUC BIOL 102 – Getting Started Quiz

Please fill out this word document electronically and submit it in the assignment folder entitled “Getting Started Quiz.” There are 6 questions, each with two blanks. Each BLANK is worth ½ a point. The questions pertain to one or more of the important items you need to review/understand before starting your BIOL 102 course. This is an open book quiz, and you will need to review sections of the syllabus, and LEO to determine the correct answers. Fill in the blanks. This is a GRADED item (6 pts total).

1) The most important first step in this class is to get your Lab Kit ordered. The next important steps include reading the syllabus, exploring the LEO classroom, and finding/downloading the lab manual.

2) Lab assignments are deducted 20% each day after the “Final Due Date,”

3) The lab manual has an appendix entitled “good lab” and the time required for Lab 7 is 60 minutes plus 7 days for observations.

4) The suggested submission date for Lab 1 is January 18 and the lab kit is NOT required to complete Lab 1 – meaning that Lab 1 can be started right away.

5) The final applied project is due on March 8th at 11:59 pm Eastern Standard Time.

6) There are 4 conference discussions that are each worth 15 pts (20% of the overall grade) and to have a chance at securing full credit for each discussion, participation must include a primary response and at least 3 additional posts in each discussion.
