The only individual who can determine my success or failure is me. Time management between my education and personal life will be a challenging responsibility as balance is needed.
While taking advantage of every opportunity to use various tools and strategies available to help me gain knowledge and understanding in an effective way.
I am taking steps to becoming a successful person and student through time management, hard work, determination, perseverance, along with accountability. Returning back to school has made me transition into a learning mode/mentality. The learning process is taking some adjustment as I have been out of school for many years. I know that I can succeed because I am motivated (Ellsworth, 1997).
Some concepts and ideas are not always understood by me but I have found that I can begin to understand by reading, doing my assignments, and asking questions. Discouragement sometimes comes to me when things are not going exactly as I would like but I keep trying. This helps me to stay encouraged even in times when I want to quit or give up. I press ahead and stay positive.
Although leadership may come calling without request, more often it comes to those who prepare for it by planning their careers (Andolsen, 2008). I decided to start planning my career by getting enrolled in school and research area of academic improvement, self - enrichment and inquiring how to gain new skills. By utilizing the University of Phoenix’s library for books, videos, references, citations, articles, thesis/outline generator, Center for Writing and Math Excellence I learned they are a very good sources for writing my school assignments/papers.
My instructor has always been available and has given good feedback. It is my responsibility to ask for understanding and clarity of my classwork. It is...
