Abstract

Hollin proposed movement away from punishment of crime to the management of crime. There are a number of pros for the use off various psychosocial measures in the management of crime. First, there would be a general reduction in recidivism. Secondly, there is a view of the criminal in the light of being a victim thus preventing wrongful punishment. Finally, it also offers alternatives of offending to the criminals. Apart from the pros, there are also a number of cons. They include inability to achieve high levels of deterrence, it also has a lot of effects on the society and finally, the criminals may not fear as they may not have pain that is similar to the crime. The paper comes to the conclusion that the management of crime should be used together with punishment. The usage should be based on the nature and type of crime that is committed.

Anger is neither right nor wrong by itself; it can be used for good as well as evil. For example a knife can be used as a surgical tool for a doctor or weapon with intent to kill by a murder.

According to Hollin, anger is a significant activator of aggression and is reciprocally connected to it....
