Issues at Kudler Fine Foods

There were several issues at Kudler Fine Foods. This paper will show the problem, an end vision of Kudler and where this company could be if this problem is solved by management.

Problem Statement- The Director of Human Resources and Administration should be responsible for the hiring and firing of all employees. The Strategic Plan shows Kathy would hire new people and fire those not working out. The organization chart clearly lists a Director of Human Resources and this job should be hers entirely. It seems that Kathy either does not trust her or she may not be ready to relinquish her power just yet. Once she has shared the vision with the Director of Human Resources, Kathy should feel confident about the final decisions made by the director. More than likely the director has some ideas that would help retain good employees. If additional training is needed; give her the authority to implement this.

End Vision-If Kathy empowers her managers to carry out the vision of the company, this would be less stress for her. It would give her more of an opportunity to get suggestions and customer feedback about the stores and services offered. That information will assist the management team in growing the company forward. The Strategic Plan stated if she was sick or on vacation, no one else has the authority to order inventory or deal with major business issues.

This problem can be solved by management. If the stores are growing at a rapid rate, Kudler should have a Board of Directors. Even if Kathy had a weekly meeting with all of the directors and managers; this would lessen the burden for her. That way they can suggest that she allow her Director of Human Resources do her job. Kathy should not have to concern herself with employees who are not working out. This is what the manager of that department is for....
