The complications of local anesthesia are syncope, allergic reaction, drug toxicity, pain, edema, hematoma, infection, needle breakage and transient facial nerve paralysis.

3. Simply describe the etiology of dental caries

The etiology of dental caries is centralized around the Dr Miller’s chemocoparasitic theory; three factors theory. The 3 requirements are 1. Microorganism 2. Sugar and 3. Host and tooth are necessary for the etiology of dental caries and these factors interact over time causing caries. Other minor factors include enamel composition, morphology of the tooth, habit of brushing teeth and immunity are related.

4. Introduce the weak regions of mandible and clinical presentation of mandibular fracture

The weak regions are 1. meso-combination, 2. neck of condyle 3. mental foramen 4. angle of mandible. The clinical presentation of mandibular fracture are displacement, haematoma, edema, dysfunction, bone mobility and bony crepitus and monoanesthesia.
