Trust is essential in a service-based organization. The organization must build trust to be successful by being honest and keeping commitments (Trevino & Nelson, 2007, p. 49). At Great Dane Parts Distribution Center, research of new suppliers and customers is essential for the growth and profitability of Great Dane Trailers. Great Dane management, through customer service surveys, can analyze each aspect of service expected by our customer base. Raising the bar and gathering information in each department helps us report, find deficiencies or sub-par performances for the improvement and development of each individual department. The surveys and fact-finding are not only to find the bad, but also to give rewards for the good accomplished. The Technical department, purchasing, receiving, labeling, put-away, picking, packing, shipping, and transportation are all analyzed as well as the customer service department. In most departments, we use the ISO 9001 (International Organization for Standardization) process-based quality management reporting.

New Supplier and Customer Research

Every supplier that Great Dane receives product from must meet certain standards set forth by the Great Dane organization. The product that they supply must pass certain tests that include longevity, and a clean record of accomplishment in taking care of warranty issues. All new supplier parts go through a rigorous research and development process performed by our engineering department. New customers or branches that supply product to the public are very important to the existence and stability of the Great Dane Parts Distribution Center.
