Happy Hospital: The Importance of Budgets, Performance Reports, Accounting Information, and Ethics in the Decision- Making Process

The Happy Hospital scenario provides the framework and analysis of the various aspects of a health care organization’s financial statement. The scenario lays out the different forms of financial obligations as well as discusses the financial dilemmas that can be seen within a health care facility. As a health care organization, Happy Hospital has to determine how to allocate current assets, all while increasing the organization’s future profits. At this time, Happy Hospital is looking toward investing in an electronic medical records system that will better improve the organization efficiency and decrease the amount of medical errors reported (Finkler & Ward, 2006). To invest in such a system, Happy Hospital had to evaluate all of their current assets and liabilities as well as review their entire financial statements to determine if the investment benefits would out weight the overall [Wordiness: unless meaning denim work clothes, "overall" is general and vague and contributes little to the sentence] costs.
