Case Study for Student Analysis

The new hire orientation process for ABC, Inc. is one that takes time to complete. The person tasked with overseeing this process must be one that uses his time and resources wisely. He or she should also be familiar with all of the prerequisites that each new hire must complete before they can begin orientation.

After carefully reading the case study, I have surmised that Carl Robins, the new campus recruiter, did not take full advantage of the time he had to complete the task of getting everything in order for a new hire orientation. Also, with Robins being new to the company, he may not have been as familiar with the process as someone who has gone through the entire procedure. Mr. Robins would have benefited with some guidance since this was probably his first time overseeing orientation.

Background

The process of bringing new employees onboard is one that takes time and should take place as soon as the need to bring for new workers is realized. This analysis will focus on what happens when a person who is assigned the task of taking new hires from recruit to employee does not use his time wisely.

Carl Robins has a number of things that he has to make sure are done before he can bring the new recruits in for training. The one thing he cannot do is wait until the last minute before he verifies that all of the prerequisites have been met. And, since he is a recruiter, he should make sure the company has everything in place to train the new hires.

Key Problems

The main problem Robins is facing now is the amount of time he has to make sure that everything is in place in order to bring the new hires on by the time they are needed. The things that Robins has to ensure are done immediately are:

1. Get completed files for the new trainees

2. Organize enough complete orientation manuals
