LSI Styles Circumplex

In having completed the LSI survey, the styles that represent my working personality and managing style would be power and self-actualization. The qualities that the LSI survey connects with you show how certain qualities affect your performance at work and in your personal life.

I agree the self-actualization fits some of my managing style as well as personal life. I am a very optimistic and realistic person, that doesn´t mind responsibilities and also very creative, confident and energetic. This self-actualization fits right about how I feel about my work and my performance as a leader. When I got promoted to an Accounting Manager I had to face multiple challenges with the department starting from lack of procedures, low personnel morale to bad credit history. With my leadership I was able to turn around all personal conflicts into a well geared team, created procedures and worked out payment plans with creditors and vendors. I was able to reduce expenses, negotiated better terms and payment plans with vendors and put the company in a good credit standard.

I also agree with power. In the beginning I was looking in disagreement at this style but after analyzing my managing behavior I came to the realization that it’s right. I guess I was not looking at it as a bad thing. The reason is because of the uniqueness of how my company handles the collection of premiums and the importance of properly posting and disbursing funds in a timely manner. I think these aspects makes me have the tendency to over control some areas, especially the ones related to cash receipt collection, posting and payment of premiums. Any mistake in these areas can lead to leave customers without coverage which represents a liability that can end up in costly headaches. Now, that I hold a different position and that I have someone else managing these areas, I still want to be in control. I have not been able to detach completely from the day to day...
