REPORT ON FIELD ATTACHMENT

INTRODUCTION

Being a community development student at st Pauls university. course in which, field attachment is required at the end of second and the third year. I was lucky to be a accepted in the office of the Member of Nation assembly Gilgil constituency. Gilgil constituency is in Nakuru county a 45 minutes drive from Nakuru town. It borders Nakuru constituency to the south and Nyandarua county to the east while southwards it is in the neighbourhood of Naivasha constituency while to the west it borders Njoro constituency.

Gilgil constituency is a semi arid area with a population of ............. who are from almost every tribe there is in Kenya. It is a newly created constituency from the originally known Naivasha constituency. since Kenya got its independent this is the first time that there is an MP who hails from Golgi, there before the leaders only came from Naivasha town therefore it is a big privilege for the constituents to have their own. it is a community that has been left behind development wise both economically and in human capability.

With the election of the member of National assembly representative of Gilgil constituency, he established an office in the town which is along Nakuru-Nairobi high way since it is the center of all the wards within the constituency. In this office there are four staff members the Manager, personal assistance. Secretary and two supporting staff, cook and a security man. Out side the firm there is a CDF office just some 100 meters away. It comprises of the MP who is the patron. The chairman, secretary, treasurer, the clerk of works and record custodian. Also the CDFC officials which Is inclusive even of the grassroots staff.
