Cultural Views on Health

In the world today, there are about 24,000 people dying daily because they do not have the proper health care. There are 11 million children that die every year from illness. These illnesses could have been treated if they had proper health care and were seen by a licensed provider.

African American Culture on Health

Many African Americans have jobs where the employer does not offer health care benefits. African Americans say that they get poor quality health care because of their race and ethnic background.   Many African Americans rely on family, religion, and social committees for support because of treatment they have received in the past.   Because of this, they feel that it is harder for them to get the attention they need, when they get sick.   They would like the medical professions and the government to be more sympathetic in ensuring that they get better treatment when they need to go to the doctors.

Hispanic American Culture on Health

Hispanic Americans feel as though they get treated poorly when they go to the doctors, especially if they have to be admitted to the hospital, this is mostly due to their ethnic background and race. They want to get the same level of care as a white person, but do not feel that they do because most providers do not think that they have the money to pay for services       rendered.

Health as organic

African Americans and Hispanic Americans feel as though many providers are not interested in their health and well being. They are unsatisfied by the health care system, mostly because they feel snubbed by the medical team. Mostly, because of their ethnicity and life style. The health as organic method basically states that there is no illness if there is no visible evidence.
