Lasik Surgery Persuasive Speech

Specific Purpose: After listening to my speech you will be able to agree that compared to traditional vision correction methods, LASIK surgery is the best method for correcting vision problems.

Attention-Getter: Imagine holding your baby for the first time captivated by how amazing she is, looking at her face and tiny fingers.  You just can’t take your eyes off of her watching every movement.  What an exhilarating sight this is.  This is how my co-worker felt seeing her baby for the first time.  She was so excited and alive and couldn’t imagine anything greater than this experience.   Then she thought how lucky she was to have had the Lasik eye surgery last year.  Her sight had been awful and she wouldn’t have been able to see as clearly with her glasses as what she did on that special day her baby girl was born.  This special memory was so vibrant that she still has the sight of the new baby in mind and very thankful she decided to have the Lasik eye surgery.  Now when getting up for the baby’s nighttime feeding, she doesn’t have to worry about putting or finding glasses before anything could be done.  The Lasik eye surgery was priceless.

I. As we all know that traditional methods of vision correction, glasses and contact lenses do not always solve the problem for bad vision. When your vision is less than perfect; your only choices have been to wear glasses and/or contacts.
