McDonald’s is the world’s largest chain of hamburger fast food restaurants, serving roughly 68 million customers daily within 119 different countries. With having more than 36,000 locations, it is currently the world's leading global foodservice retailer. The company’s vision entirely is ‘to be the world’s best quick service restaurant experience’. In order to achieve this, McDonald’s focuses on three worldwide strategies, which include: to be the best employer for its people in each community around the world, to deliver operational excellence to each of its customers, and to achieve enduring profitable growth through innovation and technology. A few of the countries that the restaurant is located in include: Australia, Hong Kong, Thailand, Italy, Germany, Chile, and Egypt. The company is known for supplying its products at a great value across the world, and it strives to provide the highest quality food and superior service.

A man known as Ray Kroc joined McDonald’s in 1954 and built it into the most successful fast food operation in history. He wanted to build a restaurant system that would be famous for food of consistently high quality and persistent methods of preparation. To achieve this, he chose a unique path: persuading both franchisees and suppliers to buy into his vision, working not for McDonald’s, but for themselves, together with McDonald’s.  He promoted the slogan, “In business for yourself, but not by yourself.” His philosophy was based on the simple principle of a 3-legged stool: one leg was McDonald’s, the second, the franchisees, and the third, McDonald’s suppliers. The stool was only as strong as the 3 legs.

The restaurant’s menu offers various salads, burgers and sandwiches, chicken, and snacks and sides, but is well known for the infamous burger known as the Big Mac. McDonald’s mission is ‘to be our customers' favorite place and way to eat and drink.’ The...
