“It spelled with and E”

There aren’t many like it, but this name is mine. It is the definition of a forever-acting mind; independent in its own nature. It differs from Ryan. My name carries an excited, young tone. This so-called “different name” has an appearance like the blue ocean, waves crashing on the kindhearted structure of a young man.

I was given this name to be contrary. My parents figured that would make me standout from all the others, but also show there is something special and unique about me. Though I’m not named after a specific person, this name gives the imagery of a man who did glorious things. The name tells the story of a young man who could do anything put to the test, aggressive, and ready to take on any challenge. I feel as if I was named after the one who could conquer all that got in his way.

I look up to those who have an impact on me. I inherit the helpful gestures of those before me. I build my character through the man I dream I was named after. Taking each day as that glorious role model my dreams portray. Opening up the right path for the future that stands before me.

I have not met one person who can spell my name right. They just seem to think I am just a generic Ryan. Most don’t see the true meaning of me until they read my name and see how it defines me. One letter can make a difference, and so will I. I want no other name but mine. My name is Ryen, and it is spelled with an “e.”
