Aim: To test which brand of stain removers is the best and most effective stain remover, and whether natural stain removers are better than chemical products.

Background Information:

Stain removal is the process of removing a mark or spot left by one substance on a specific surface like a fabric. A solvent or detergent is generally used to conduct stain removal and many of these are available over the counter. Many different brands claim to have the perfect ingredients to make fabrics spotless and unharmed after contacting the stain removal product. Stain is mainly removed by dissolving a stain with a solvent. Stain removers are also composed of detergents, that emulsify certain compounds such as oil to shake and mix with water which allows the water to suck out the oil and remove the stains. Stains are also removed through the use of acids, citric acid is an active bleaching agent and can remove stains.
