Every employer has the willing to get more revenue, so finding various ways to cut down costs is one of their daily jobs. For most employers, wages take the biggest part of costs, and declare the payment from this part is absolutely a simple and efficient way to satisfy their requirement of profit, while harm the financial benefit of employees at the same time. However, once employees find that their wages are not enough to raise their family, they would oppose the employers as well as the government sometimes, this behavior could seriously interrupt the stability of society. Obviously, governments would like to try their best to prevent this kind of circumstance happen. In order to maintain the legal right of employees as well as the stability of society, governments in most countries implement a minimum wage, which aims at making sure that every labor could get enough payback from their boss to make a living for work(Sink, J 2014).

According to the Minimum Wage Data, District of Columbia has the highest minimum wage, which is $9.50 per hour at present(United States Department of Labor2014). Governments changes the minimum wage depending on the quality of economic as well as the cost of living formula. As the reason why implanting minimum wage is to make sure that basic living requirement could always be satisfied, governments have to adjust it to help the poorest defeat continues inflation.

There are 19 states in the USA that have a minimum wage that is higher than the federal minimum wage, which includes Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Illinois, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, and Vermont(Bureau of Labor Statistics 2014).
