Project Specifications:
I chose a company that produces aluminum softball bats. I toyed around with different ideas before this selection but I ultimately made this selection because I have a twelve year old daughter that is very active in sports. Softball is one of her favorite sports. The selection of the proper softball bat is essential for batting success. A few ounces too light or a few ounces too heavy will often times negatively impact performance. The production and sale of baseball bats is big business not only nationally but internationally. I was surprised at the varying cost of a baseball bat for a girl my daughter’s age.
Mission Statement
‘Baseball is kid’s game; let’s eliminate the barriers for kids to play’
My goal is to make baseball accessible to more girls by reducing the cost of one of the key items needed to play the sport; a bat. I plan to operate a for profit business in this endeavor with the belief that greater profits can be earned on sales volume in this industry as opposed to individual sales. I will be donating a bat to a charity that supports youth softball each time one is purchased from my organization.
Goals and Objectives
My goals and objectives for my business are as follows:
* To produce aluminum bats in the most efficient manner possible to maximize profits with an average cost of $40 per bat
