Case #24 “From Rookie to Reality”

Case Summary:

Shoreline Elementary is small elementary school with 720 students. It serves students in Kindergarten to 5th Grade. The school is smaller compared to the other 18 schools within the district. It has maintained a reputation of the one of the most desirable schools in the area. The school is considered one of the most desirable schools in the area. The school has a new Principal, who is currently the Interim Acting Principal. The new principal is very confident in the position. The Principal currently receives mentoring from a veteran Principal, Rick King who is from the Principal’s previous school. The principal is very highly visible throughout the school building and takes a hands-on approach to problem solving and responds quickly to parents and staff. In addition, the principal’s hard working efforts are received well by the staff and the community. Rick King had to evacuate his school because a pipe bomb was found outside of a classroom in the school. What appears to be a bomb similar is found by a parent and student outside of the school building.
