Abstract

Today we are truly a connected planet. Modern computer systems touch every aspect of our daily lives, even if a person does not use a computer directly they are un-aware users of information systems from when they get up in the morning and turn on a light to their commute to work and finally to their relaxation time a computer of some sort touches them daily. The security of these systems is left to the individual network service provider, electric grid, public transportation system and entertainment systems. But as the cyber threat has increased in recent times so has the complexity of securing these systems. This paper will attempt to discuss the role of government in this process of securing the network.
