1. What are the vision, mission, values, and objectives of the Carmelite Monks? List at least one financial and one strategic objective.

The Carmelite Monk’s vision was to transform the small brotherhood of 13 monks living in a small home used as makeshift rectory into a 500-acre monastery that would include accommodations for 30 monks, a Gothic church, a convent for Carmelite nuns, a retreat center for lay visitor and a hermitage.

Their mission is provide whole-bean and ground caffeinated and decaffeinated variety in dark, medium and light roasts and in different flavors. They do this primarily for their target market of the US Catholic population who drank coffee.

The Carmelite Monk’s values are to lead a dedicated life of prayer and worship in the Wyoming Carmelite monastery. They heavily value a peaceful lifestyle of solitude and vows of obedience,c hastity, and poverty and the sacrifices associated with living a cloistered religious life.

Their business objective is to procure a new $8.9 million place of worship, prayer and solitude while providing quality coffee. A strategic objective is to purchase a new roaster while the demand increases.

2.Using Figure 3 in the article (discussed on pp. R-17 through R-18) prepare a provisional business model for Mystic Monk Coffee by answering the questions in the first seven boxes in Figure 3 (skip the items in the last box). Please be particularly attentive to the second set of questions that deal with the "deep truth" about what customers really value. Also, when answering the final set of questions, please briefly discuss production limitations (equipment, personnel).
