How well does Bacon manage the task force in each of the following steps? Two critiques for each:

1. Starting up the task force

a. According to Bacon, Meir didn’t have a lot of experience, which would lead to a potential lack of information that is collected because he doesn’t have the expertise in the area. Bacon should’ve insisted on assigning somebody with more experience to the specific task.

b. Holt was assigned to the task force mainly because of his age. That shouldn’t be the reason that somebody is assigned. Rather, Holt should’ve been assigned because of his level of expertise in the subject matter.

2. Conducting the first meeting

c. Rather than only having a couple people speak at the meeting, Bacon should’ve tried to include everyone by asking the opinion of those that weren’t volunteering any information. That way everyone would feel as part of the group and would be more open later on.

d. Holt was the one who delegated the tasks to everyone. Bacon should have taken charge and been the leader who assigned everyone their tasks and had Meir work with someone else on his task rather than doing it on his own.

3. Running the task force

e. Meir was the outsider of the team and didn’t seem to be involved with other team members. Bacon also didn’t make a significant attempt at including him and making him feel as a member of the team. This was probably because he already had a suspicion that Meir didn’t agree with his beliefs and was being influenced by his boss Dr. Cornelius.

f. Bacon should have had Meir call/video in for the meeting that they had on July 23rd. That way everyone would have been on the same page and would be able to discuss any issues that they were having such as Meir having a difficult time gathering information as a result of his suspicion that the regional sales managers were hiding information from him.
