Abstract
Although there is no U.S. federal legislation addressing workplace bullying, surveys indicate that there is widespread support from the American public. Workplace bullying causes turnover and disruption to employers. It often costs a company tens of thousands of dollars to recruit, hire and train a new employee to replace a bullied worker who leaves. This review reports on why bullying is allowed to continue and recommended actions for both targets and employers.
