INCREASING OPERATIONS EFFICIENCY AT MOUNTAINSIDE INDUSTRIES Co
Problems with orders, products combination and collaboration with divisions at Mountainside Industries Co. have decreased operations efficiency of the company within the last few years. To address these problems, I recommend considering adequate measures regarding purchasing departments, marketing strategies and divisions relations.
ESTABLISH CLOSE RELATIONSHIPS WITH DIVISIONAL PURCHASING DEPARTMENTS
Establishing close relationships with different purchasing departments within the company will contribute in increasing operations efficiency since it helps coordinate divisions’ purchase orders and minimize materials cost. The company must create an order book for all divisions within the firm and make sure the heads of the purchasing departments always get in touch with each other while placing material orders for their divisions. For instance, through the order book, the firm will have knowledge of what is needed across all divisions so all similar orders can be placed at once with a single supplier. In this way, the firm will be able to take any substantial discount on big purchase orders and minimize materials final cost. In fact, it is very important to establish close relationships with divisions to coordinate their purchase orders and minimize materials cost in order to increase operations efficiency across the firm.
