The gospel of Jesus Christ is a living story of the redemptive power of the Cross. Even now it is important that Christians are not ashamed of the gospel that they believe. In the book of Romans the Apostle Paul addresses many of the principles that are needed for believers to defend and proclaim the story of Jesus Christ. When proclaiming the truths of the Bible it is important to understand how we were created, the consequences of sin, and what salvation is.

Creation

Man has always had the questioned the origin of life. Some believe man evolved from monkeys, while others the “Big Bang Theory”, but for Christians creation is simple it all begins with Genesis 1:1, “In the beginning God created”. This belief is the foundation of the Christian on how life came to be with God the being the center of it all as the creator. “For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.” (Romans 1:20, New International Version) The power of God is constantly shown through his creations. His majesty can be seen in even the simplest things, a light breeze, a rainbow, or something as small as a breath. We are who God made us to be. It is important to remember that God is the only creator and nothing can ever change that. The creation of man in Genesis also brought sin into the world with the fall of Adam.

Sin

Sin is anything that separates man from God. Cambridge Dictionary of Christian Theology states that “the term ‘sin’ refers to a disordered or disrupted relationship to God. “ Sin creates a disconnect to occur between God and his people. The disconnect caused by sin stops the people of God from receiving the promises of God. The Bible tells us that there is a consequence to sin. “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23...
