In business research, variable is synonym for a construct or in other words, the property being studied. Researchers at the Kauffman Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership (Babson College) and the London Business School a study designed to prove a causal relationship between factors that affect entrepreneurial opportunities and potential, to business dynamics and national economic growth and well-being.

A lot of variables were involved in the study namely the factors manipulated by the researchers which were the entrepreenial opportunities and potential and the variables being affected by changes in the above said variables which are the national economic growth and well-being and business dynamics.
