Many wars broke out between the Indian Americans and the settlers. The European forts and their trading stations, took over the land that the Native Americans owned, South of the Hudson Bay and East of the Mississippi River. The Europeans had a high demand for fur, they traded, knives, hatches, coats, pants, and liquor to the Native Americans in return of fur. Europeans struggled to control the new land of North America in the 18th century. The Natives were forced to take sides of the new settlers. The Europeans tried bribing the Natives with goods to pick their side. Not all Natives were happy about the new arrangements being made, and there land being taken over. Teedyuscung was known as the king of the Delaware. He worked to establish a permanent home in Easter Pennsylvania, Susquehanna and the Delaware River valley. Colonists continued to move onto Indian lands and the Indians began to fight back with violence. Teedyuscung had turned to the Pennsylvania colonial government for help. Teddyuscung was referred to the Iroquirs six nations government. Teddyuscung`s people were attacked by the French allied Indians. He was ordered not to fight back. In 1758 the Treaty of Easton was created it was a colonial agreement during the French and Indian war. The chiefs of the 13 Indian Nations agreed to be allies with the British colonies. This treaty didn’t last very long before more war broke out. Tom Quick and the Indians got along, in the early years of Tom Quick`s life. He learned the Indians language, hunted with them and learned their ways. The Indians realized that white settlement to the New World would deprive the Indians of land. The Indians wanted to attempt to kill all the Europeans along the Delaware. Tom Quick’s family was one of the Indians first victims; Tom watched his family being scalped by the Indians.
