Professional values and ethics are related subjects, dealing with the moral principles and standards of conduct, supporting the moral prestige of professional groups in society. They are very important in the conduct of one’s social life, guiding him/her to decide between right and wrong. As human beings are conscious of their fame, they want to set a good example for others, for which they tend to take a route on an ethical direction. This is possible only when people realize the values, which determine what is known as character. Character makes a person decide what he should do, as he is accountable to himself. A character person would have good values, which he transfers and carries to where ever he goes be it his personal or professional life.
Ethics and values in life help in the percolation of good principles into one’s profession, where he/she comes across various situations ranging from easy tasks to stressful situations and still he/she does not let their character go exhibiting his command over his attitude to his employers as well. The employer will be assured of the accountability which such people can give and they can be relied upon, as they would keep up the healthy atmosphere at the work place and make others feel safe and confident about each other.
Values are very essential in life and all individuals knowingly or unknowingly carry a set of values with them, where ever they go. Values are beliefs of an individual or a social group in which they have an emotional investment for or against something (Dictionary.com). but the question of implementation of values is something which varies from person to person, as the application of values emits fresh energies, attracting success, achievement and well being. Values when adopted by social units like companies or institutions, it affects the employees and others who are associated with them.
