This paper will examine a case study scenario that looks into the life of a 40 year old male by the name of Roger. Roger has sought out professional help for a number of things ranging from suicidal ideation, loneliness, depression, and homosexual thoughts. Roger is also battling obesity and suffers from diabetes and high blood pressure. Within this paper the writer will explore an approach to effectively providing sound services for Roger. When engaging in a counseling relationship, professional counselors will encounter many different situations and scenarios that dictate the direction of counseling services. The writer will identify areas of the client’s life, such as personal information that will also guide the course of the counseling relationship.
