As a consumer, I believe variety is a key element to obtaining a successful market place. For instance, sport apparel is a prime example of a market with many options. According to statistics sports apparel is expected to exceed 126 billion by 2015. Nike, Adidas, and other leading brands has turned exercise apparel to fashion trends and developed a lifestyle. So, if one product may not meet consumers expectations another product as the potential to excel. Moreover, brands has linked up with fashion designers to promote a diverse market which has increased consumer options. In result, this has widen the market and open consumers eyes and perception of sports apparel. For instance, Nike Inc. is considered the most iconic brand and well recognized brand next to the American flag. Nike mix cost of Jordan, Nike Golf, Nike Skateboarding, Hurley, Converse, Cole Haan, and Umbro. I believe it's good for consumers to have variety when it comes products.

Furthermore, it's important to have many options because a consumer leading brand maybe out of stock on a product the next company may have a similar item available. I feel consumer shouldn't have to suffer because one company lacks a product. However, many feel that many options could potentially be overwhelming. I feel that if consumers can't find a particular item they would settle for the next best thing close to their initial product. In additions, variety will keep a competitive edge over each brand to produce better products.
