Making An ATM Withdrawal

In order for a bank customer to properly withdraw money from an automatic teller machine (ATM), they must initially be an active member of the bank. ATM usage is a convenient way of banking without the hassles of stepping into the actual building and intertwining with bank employees and other customers of the bank. It is a quick-fix transaction for deposits and withdrawals. Once an individual becomes a member, the bank issues a debit or ATM card that numerically connects the customer to the account. This account should be accessible to only the customer and anyone they authorize access to their account. Accessibility should be handled carefully because whoever has access to the account have access to the funds the customer has available in the bank.

The first step in the withdrawal process is to locate the ATM of the bank. Once the ATM has been located, find the start button to alert the machine that a transaction is desired by the customer. The ATM will prompt the customer to insert their issued debit card. On the machine is a picture that shows the correct way to insert the card. Once the card is inserted, the ATM will scan the card, reading the information that connects the customer to the bank. Some ATMs allows the customer to choose their language of choice to operate in. Then the ATM will ask for the customer’s PIN code. A “PIN or personal identification number, is a four-digit password people use to access their bank account” (http://m.wikihow.com/Use-anATM). Enter the PIN code. Once the machine verifies the code, it will open more access gates that get them closer to withdrawing money from their account.

Now the PIN process is complete, the ATM will give the customer several options on how to withdraw cash from their account. The options are usually Fast Cash Withdrawal, Checking...
