As time passes by, there were an increase in the percentage of minorities and women in the workforce. Evidently employer that not having plans to eliminate the barriers will hiring minorities and women will eventually be cut off from the larger aspect of the American labor force. After looking at the constant rise of hiring and promoting minorities, today corporate leader uses affirmative action as a necessity tool to increase diversity in the corporate world." By expanding the pool of talent for companies to draw on, affirmative action brings diverse skills and backgrounds into the workforce, thereby helping firms compete domestically and internationally."(American Council on Education, u.d)

In my opinion I think that affirmative action programs, reverse discrimination are the appropriate forms of remedy. This is because as we look at history, even though the majority of the businesses in the United States are small business, 'around 25% of the government funding goes to small business. On top of that 10% of the government funding goes to women and minorities."(diverisitystratgies.com) But in the past ten years the number has increased largely due to the fact that the government recognized the competition in the public contracting. As we look at the hiring statistics over the years the numbers has increased significantly. "During the decade of 1992-2002 the number of white women that was hired in the corporate management positions dramatically increased from 27% to 30% where as the minority women increased from 2.3 % to 4%."(diversitycentral.com)

I think that my response in my previous is consistent with this assignment because business owners have recognized the potential loss of money and reputation if they don't comply with affirmative action. But I also think that business owner doesn't look at the moral side of the business, but brings the income and what keep they business open.
